Gujarat govt to launch ‘Aapke Dwar Ayushman’ mega drive

Gandhinagar: Health minister Rushikesh Patel today visited a 1200-bed hospital in Medicity campus of Asarwa Civil. He made announcement that the government is going to hold ‘Aap ke Dwar Ayushman’ mega drive from September 23 to cover 80 lakh families and enroll them to PMJAY-Ma card scheme of government. He also said that the old building of Civil hospital will undergo required corrections and will be built new. He said daily 75,000 RTPCR and Rapid Antigen tests are being conducted on daily basis to check Covid-19 infection. DeshGujarat

Welfare schemes’ data to enrich Ayushman Bharat

In a first, the Union government plans to leverage the database of beneficiaries of its marquee schemes such as Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and National Food Security Act to further expand the beneficiary database under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), the world’s largest health assurance scheme. The government also plans to shortly launch Aapke Dwar Ayushman campaign 2.0 across the country after 40 million cards were issued last year through the campaign. In the past, many states and districts have made efforts to amplify the identification and generation of Ayushman cards; however, all those initiatives were localized and could not be sustained for long and one reason could be pandemic, said the official. “Hence, NHA (National Health Authority) has now conceptualized Aapke Dwar Ayushman Campaign 2.0 with an aim to generate 300 million Ayushman cards by the end of this year. Now, the focus is on four major points—(i) beneficiary database enrichment, (ii) revamping of Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) by strengthening KYC & search and eliminating paper, (iii) capacity building of agencies to generate cards (iv) policy support to states as NHA will provide full financial support to state government in creating co-branded Ayushman cards," an official said requesting anonymity. New Delhi: ‘Aapke Dwar Ayushman’ campaign has recorded a new high of 8,35,089 beneficiaries verified in a single day on 14 March, which is an all-time high in a single-day record since launch of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) scheme. The Aapke Dwar Ayushman initiative has been launched on 1 st Feb 2021, with an aim to verify eligible beneficiaries under the scheme. Another objective of the initiative is to create large scale awareness among beneficiaries about AB PM-JAY health assurance scheme residing across the country especially in remote areas. Issuance of Ayushman Card will enable beneficiaries avail free healthcare services upto Rs. 5 lakh per family per year. Though, beneficiaries can walk to the empanelled service providers without any card to avail services. Ayushman card gives confidence to eligible beneficiary to claim their right to free health care services under the scheme. Aapke Dwar Ayushman’ drive is successfully running in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, J&K among other States. This year, a total of 1.2 crore Ayushman cards have been generated. It is expected that other States will soon join the drive. Earlier this week on Wednesday, atleast 4,77,105 beneficiary records were created on 10 March in the ongoing ‘ AapKeDwarAyushman’campaign which was launched from 1st February, 2021. Bihar was the first State to activate the beneficiary verification process in the mission mode under the initiative. a The aim of the campaign is create large scale awareness about AB PM-JAY health insurance scheme among all beneficiaries residing in the all parts of the country especially in rural and interiors parts so that beneficiaries can avail cashless healthcare benefit upto Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year.
