New Apple Leak Confirms iPhone 15 Price Shock

Ives has not provided a specific figure, but he is (by far) the biggest name to add weight to these price-hike claims. While U.S. buyers will understandably be concerned about this, potentially the biggest shock will be for international customers who could be facing their second successive major price increase. Editor Despite this, Ives remains bullish on Apple, raising his 12-month stock target to $220 from $205. He believes the iPhone 15 cycle could be a “trophy case” moment for the company, shifting 235 million to 240 million units, after his research revealed approximately 250 million iPhones have not been upgraded in over four years, creating a huge backlog of potential buyers. Whether Apple has done enough with the iPhone 15 lineup to drive this number of sales remains to be seen. While widespread leaks point to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus updating their designs and iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models adding faster processors, improved cameras, an ‘Action Button,’ as well as a range-wide transition to USB-C, the overall improvements are modest. Moreover, 06/12 Update: I have been contacted by a trusted source who also expects Apple to increase iPhone 15 prices. While Ives states that the average selling price for next-gen iPhones will be higher, my source claims that in the U.S., this is likely to be via hikes to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max rather than standard models. Unlike earlier leaks, which claimed increases of up to $200, my source claims that a $100 rise...

There have also been hints that Apple will restrict some functionality to Made for ‌iPhone‌ cables, but we can't tell if that's the case with dummy models. There have been multiple rumors of a minor design change to the corners of the ‌iPhone 15‌ models, which you can indeed see. It's a subtle shift, but the corners are rounder than before, making for a more comfortable feel in the hand. Rumors suggest the ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ models will use titanium instead of stainless steel, but that's a feature we can't see in the dummy models. Rather than the shiny finish of the dummy models, we'll likely see a more high-end matte finish. All of the dummy models feature a frosted glass back, something that has in the past been limited to the Pro models. We have heard rumors that frosted glass will be used across the board, but it is a curious choice. All four iPhones in 2023 are also expected to have the The ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ and Pro Max dummy models feature a unified volume button, but that design tweak may have been changed last minute. iPhone 15 rumors — 7 biggest leaks so far

The new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro are set to arrive this fall, but what should you expect? We could finally see Apple embrace USB-C across the board, bring its Dynamic Island to the regular models and make the Pros super pro with a titanium design and the camera upgrade many have been waiting for. (Image credit: Ivan Shenets | Shutterstock) Apple is basically embracing USB-C for the iPhone against its will due to best Android phones with this key feature. The Lightning connector is just too slow and simply not as reliable as USB-C over time, so the hope is that we’ll see both faster transfer speeds to PCs and from cameras, as well as faster charging. So the good news is that Lightning should be dead. The bad news is that Apple is rumored to offer faster transfer speeds on the Pro models, so the regular iPhones could get screwed. Plus, there’s been a few reports that Apple may require Made for iPhone (MFi) certification from accessory makers so that it’s able to make money off the open standard. But regulators are already sounding the alarm that such a move would be illegal. In case you haven’t been following, the Dynamic Island is a replacement for the notch and delivers alerts and Live Updates towards the top of the display. So you can do things like see your next turn at a glance while getting directions, quickly access music controls, check the status of your Lyft ride or see sports scores — all without diving into an app. We’re hoping a lot more developers jump on bo...
