June 16, 2023 Arun Goel Appointed Election Commissioner: Retired IAS (IAS) officer Arun Goyal was appointed Election Commissioner in the Election Commission on Saturday (19 November). Goyal has been a 1985 batch Punjab cadre officer. He will be part of the Election Commission along with Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar and Election Commissioner Anoop Chandra Pandey. The Union Ministry of Law and Justice informed about Goyal’s appointment. Sushil Chandra retired from the post of Chief Election Commissioner in May.
