In Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, actor Manoj Bajpayee plays a lawyer defending a prominent godman accused of sexually abusing a juvenile girl. He claims that being compassionate to the victim was their first priority while filming the true-life courtroom drama. The film's producers received a legal warning from self-styled godman Asaram, who was sentenced to life in prison for sexually exploiting a kid, and the Sant Shri Asaramji Ashram Charitable Trust, stating that the trailer is 'highly objectionable and defamatory.' When asked about the legal notice, Bajpayee said he is not the right person to comment on the issue, but the film, directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and written by Deepak Kingrani, is not based on 'just one story'.
