Nakshatra Nakshatras is the term for lunar mansion in Hindu astrology. A nakshatra is one of 28 (sometimes also 27) sectors along the ecliptic. Their names are related to the most prominent asterisms in the respective sectors. The nakshatras of traditional bhartiya astronomy are based on a list of 28 asterisms found in the Atharvaveda (AVŚ 19.7) and also in the Shatapatha Brahmana.[citation needed] The first astronomical text that lists them is the Vedanga Jyotisha. In classical Hindu scriptures (Mahabharata, Harivamsa), the creation of the nakshatras is attributed to Daksha. Hey guys! If you’ve ever gotten a reading from me, or generally seen my blog, you’d notice I’m quite partial to Nakshatras within a reading. Before I went on a hiatus, bunch of people asked me how I could predict someone’s looks based on their Nakshatra. For this purpose, I ’ve decided to make a two pronged series on, nakshtras and appearances, as well as nakshtaras and personalities. Within each part ill cover around 1 nakshtara, and within 27 parts we’ll have the 27 Nakshatras. Thus, a total of 54 posts, one for appearance and one for personality traits. Now you may use these as you see fit. If you use the nakshtras of your rising ascendant, atmakarka, moon or sun, it may describe you. If you use your darakarka or 7th lord’s nakshtra, you may see how your spouse may look, 3rd lord may describe your sibling, 4th for mother and so on and so forth.
