The right to live, grow, stay safe and express feelings are some of the Children’s rights that make up for Children’s day. These rights got sanctioned by the Convention on the Rights of the Child on 14 September 1990. And that’s how Nepal got its Children’s Day or Bal Diwas on the same date. Happy Bal Diwas – Children’s Day in Nepal 2022. The idea emerged as a result of Indian Children’s day celebrated on Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday. Ratnarajya Laxmidevi Shah witnessed it, liked it and brought the idea to Nepal in 2021 BS.
