In one of the most sacred and ancient Indian scriptures - Bhagavata Purana - there are stories of Lord Krishna from his childhood which beautifully depict both his human (through the lightness of childhood) and divine nature (the higher calling). In one such story, Krishna and his brother Balaram were playing in the courtyard. Suddenly Krishna took a handful of soil and ate it.
