The College is located in a good locality and has a central location. It is well connected to different parts of the city by bus. The campus is vast and the beautiful garden, spacious play-ground, well ventilated class rooms provide a congenial atmosphere for teaching and learningThe college celebrated its Silver Jubilee during the academic year 2010-11. To mark the occasion, a new library building was inaugurated. This building is spacious, airy and well-lit. There are over 21,000 books in the library. Facilities for browsing and reference are made. The library subscribes to various newspapers, magazines, periodicals and journals. It is partially computersised. The family of Late Sri. M.C.Antin has donated liberally to the library and the library is named as Late Sri. M.C.Antin Memorial Library.

About Us Catering to the educational needs of rural youth In 1982, BLDEA established Basaveshwar Arts & Commerce College in Basavana Bagewadi, the birthplace of His Holiness Jagadguru Shri Basaveshwara, a great social reformer and a revolutionary saint of the 12th Century. It is 42 km away from Vjayapura, a district known for the world-famous historical monument Gol Gumbaz. The aim of starting the institution was to offer education to the oppressed, disadvantaged and rural community of Basavana Bagewadi. Most of the students studying in this college hail from a poor background and mainly depend on agriculture. Basaveshwar Arts & Commerce College is an aided institution affiliated with Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, and recognized under UGC 2(f) &12(b). Two UG programmes (BA and BCom) and one PG programme are offered to the students. About 98% of college students have a rural background. The institution has continuously strived to impart quality education.

The institution has the vision of imparting quality education at moderate cost to promote inclusive learning. Always adhering to the tenets laid down by Lord Basaveshwara, the college promotes simple living and high thinking. Great thrust is given to the encouragement of students from the socially and economically marginalised sections of society. More than 50% of our students receive freeships and scholarships of one kind or another. The college arranges remedial classes for slow learners by utilising UGC funds.
