All the data available here on personnel is publicly available in the Gazette of India, published by the Indian Government. Most national libraries - including libraries in UK, US maintain microfilm copies of the Gazette of India from the 19th Century till the current date. Moreover additional information are sometimes provided by the officers themselves, who are either serving or retired, or sent by their families.
