Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Gaya District of Bihar. In 2011, Gaya had population of 4,391,418 of which male and female were 2,266,566 and 2,124,852 respectively. In 2001 census, Gaya had a population of 3,473,428 of which males were 1,792,163 and remaining 1,681,265 were females. Gaya District population constituted 4.22 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Gaya District was at 4.18 percent of Maharashtra population. There was change of 26.43 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Gaya District recorded increase of 30.03 percent to its population compared to 1991. Men are careless and as women are not properly educated, they are unable to put their foot down and stop the population growth,” said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during a public meeting in Vaishali on Saturday. “Mard log jis tarikey se roj-roj karte hi rehta hai, usko dhyaan mein hi nahin rehta ki bachcha paida nahin karana hai (Men keep doing it every day wihout realising population has to be controlled,” the CM said. His comment has sparked controversy and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lambasted him for his “indecent language”. “The indecent words used by Chief Minister Mr Nitish Kumar are the height of insensitivity. By using such words, he is tarnishing the dignity of the post of Chief Minister,” tweeted Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council, Samrat Chaudhary. About Bihar Caste Census Data (बिहार जातिगत जनगणना) 2023 Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has started 1st phase of caste based survey in the Bihar state from 7 January 2023. 1st phase of बिहार जातिगत जनगणना will end on 21 January 2023. The number of all households in the state will be counted and recorded in the first phase. The 2nd phase of Bihar Caste Census Data creation process which will be conducted from 1 April to 30 April 2023. People living in the households, their castes, sub-castes, socio-economic conditions etc. will be collected. The complete caste based census of Bihari population and creation of record process will end on 31 May 2023. Approval of Caste Based Survey in Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar mentioned “the survey will be a detailed record on castes and communities in the State. It will help in their development”.
