The BM Birla Planetarium has been showing sky shows on different themes since the time it was opened. The shows depict the astronomical facts, events and achievements. The current show is titled ‘The Biography of the Universe’ brought with the support of the European Southern Observatory. In this mesmerizing, 30-minute voyage through space and time, the Universe is slowly revealed. The various worlds in our solar system is shown and then slowly the viewer gets transported from our home – the Milky Way galaxy to the incredible varieties of galaxies. Along the way, the history of astronomy, the invention of the telescope, and today’s giant telescopes is also discussed which allows us to investigate deep into the heart of the Universe.
