Canara Bank hikes interest rates up to 135 bps on fixed deposits across tenors

The interest rate on retail fixed deposits of less than ₹2 Cr has been hiked at the public sector lender Canara Bank. According to the bank's official website, the new rates are in effect as of today, October 7, 2022. Following the adjustment, the bank raised its interest rates for all tenors and is currently providing an interest rate on deposits maturing in 7 days to 10 years that range from 3.25% to 7.00% for the general public and 3.25% to 7.50% for senior citizens. Canara Bank FD Rates The bank increased its interest rate on fixed deposits maturing in 7 days to 45 days by 35 basis points (bps), from 2.90% to 3.25%, and on retail term deposits maturing in 46 days to 90 days by 25 bps, from 4% to 4.25%. Fixed deposits maturing in 91 days to 179 days will now earn interest at a rate of 4.50% (up from 4.05% previously), a 45 basis point increase, while term deposits maturing in 180 days to 269 days will now earn interest at a rate of 5.90% (up from 4.65% previously), a 125 basis point increase. Canara Bank Hikes Fixed Deposit Interest Rate On Less Than 2 Cr Deposits, w.e.f 01 March 2022

In a statement issued by the bank, it has been said that the interest rate on fixed deposits of 2-3 years has been increased to 5.20 percent and on deposits of 3-5 years to 5.45 percent from 5.25 percent earlier. It said that the interest rate on fixed deposits of 5-10 years has been increased to 5.5 percent by increasing the maximum 0.25 percent. Deposits (other than NRO/NRE and CGA Deposits) less than Rs. 2 Cr and having a tenor of 180 days or more would be eligible for an additional 0.50 percent interest rate for Senior Citizens. Also, Canara Unique Retail Term Deposit Scheme of "1111 Days" offers with an additional rate of interest of 0.10% over and above the rate for the tenor of the deposit. Canara Bank, a public sector lender, increased interest rates on fixed deposits below ₹2 crore. According to the bank's website, the new rates are effective as of today, July 16, 2022. Following the revision, the bank is currently offering an interest rate on deposits maturing in 7 days to 10 years of 2.90 per cent to 5.75 per cent for the general public and 2.90 per cent to 6.25 per cent for older adults. Canara Bank FD Rates 2022 The bank is now offering an interest rate of 2.90 per cent on deposits maturing in the 7 days to 45 days, and an interest rate of 4.00 per cent on deposits maturing in the 46 days to 90 days. Canara Bank Revises FD Interest Rate Higher w.e.f. 8.8.2022: Check New Rates

Public sector lender Canara Bank has revised FD interest rate higher after the RBI in its August MPC outcome increased the key policy rate by 50 bps. 1Bps is one-hundredth of a percentage point. The new revised rates come into force from August 8, 2022. The revision in FD rate has been made for deposits below Rs. 2 crore. Further on the FD for 1 year tenure, the bank hiked rate by 20 bps to 5.5%. Also for a FD tenure of 1 year to less than 2 years, there has been made a hike by 15 bps to 5.55%.

Canara Bank has announced a special fixed deposit (FD) plan under which the lender is offering interest to its regular customers at a rate of 7 per cent, while senior citizens will receive interest at 7.5 per cent. Meanwhile, the 1-year MCLR has been hiked 1 basis point to 7.90 per cent.
