It's that time of the year again when Mumbaikars will get to witness their very own 'cherry blossom' festival. If you're yearning to take a trip to Japan but cannot due to the coronavirus pandemic, worry not, because one can now experience the similar pink bloom in the city itself. Drive or walk along the Vikhroli stretch of the Eastern Express Highway which is, at present, lined with gorgeous Pink Trumpet trees. The entire stretch is a sight to behold with the pink flowers carpeting the entire road, mesmerising the passersby. Every year, from December to April, the portion of the highway between Ghatkopar and Vikhroli, opposite Godrej, turns pink as the flowers are in full bloom during this period. The trees have been planted by the city's civic body as they are pretty, as well as low maintenance.
