City to get a public garden bigger than Central Park

Jaipur: The residents of Jaipur will soon have another public garden, 10 acres larger than the present Central Park. The This new park has been named as ‘City Park’ and CM Ashok Gehlot has already given his assent for the project. The work orders will be issued soon. Central park is constructed on 42 acre land but the new ‘City Park’ will be bigger in area and will have more facilities for the residents. Commissioner Rajasthan Housing Board Pawan Arora said that they are targeting to have green cover in major portion of the park. “We have planned to develop this park based on public gardens in developed countries. We want citizens to have a personal experience when they visit the park. This will not just be a park for morning exercises, but there would be recreational facilities and interactive features for the people. There will be a children’s park, a food court, juice centre and other facilities. Almost 90% of the park area will have green cover,” said Arora. He further said that the plantation for the park will begin this monsoon but other construction will take some time. “The area is identified and map is finalized. Once the DPR is prepared, tenders will be invited. It will take a year-and-a-half to complete the construction, but the plantation in the park has to be started this monsoon,” Arora added. City Park in Mansarovar to be bigger than Central Park; 2.5 lakh people to benefit

Jaipur: There will soon be a new destination for joggers and health enthusiasts in the city. The Rajasthan government will develop City Park in Mansarovar which will be bigger in size even the Central Park. The park is being developed on a land between VT Road and Arawali Marg. The officials said that the park will be thrown open for the public within the next two years. “Nearly 2.5 lakh people living in Mansarovar and other nearby colonies will have an easy access to the park. This will be a great addition to the area and we hope that it will become a favourite destination for people who love greenery and want to lead an active life,” said a senior Rajasthan Housing Development official. He said that the park will feature nearly 10,000 plants and trees. “The jogging track will be nearly 3 km and the internal walkway will be about 1.5 km. There will be CCTVs at all the six entrance and exit gates as well as the jogging tracks for monitoring and security,” said the officer. The Central Park jogging track is nearly 4-km long. UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal had announced the development of the park on December 4. “The project has got the nod from the chief minister. We will help of the local people and organizations in achieving our target of planting 10,000 trees before this monsoon season,” said the officer.
