Marcus Stroman says Chicago Cubs not exploring contract extension now

Sports Seriously, USA TODAY Marcus Stroman wants to remain with the Chicago Cubs, but he doesn't seem so sure they want to stay in Chicago. The Cubs' ace took to Twitter on Saturday to call out the team for not negotiating with his agent on a contract extension. After "My agent and I made multiple attempts to engage them on an extension. Club wasn’t interested in exploring it now. Will see how it plays out! Love everything about the STAY UP-TO-DATE: My agent and I made multiple attempts to engage them on an extension. Club wasn’t interested in exploring it now. Will see how it plays out! Love everything about the Stroman told reporters Saturday: "I want nothing more than to be a Cub. I kill myself 24/7 on and off the field to perform, to keep my body is position, to keep my mind in position. I truly believe I prepare like nobody else so I know my worth." Stroman is having a fabulous year, 7-4 with a 2.42 ERA, pitching a league-leading 85 ⅔ innings. If Stroman and the Cubs can't reach an agreement on a contract extension, Chicago may have no choice but to trade him by the Aug. 1 trade deadline. Stroman also has an opt-out clause in his contract that he’s expected to exercise, knowing he can certainly earn much more on the open market than the $21 million he’s due in 2024. "I know how narratives get created in media from the top down, once it starts to creep towards the trade deadline and how they try to make it sound like players are unsignable or don’t want to be here, lik...

Longtime TCFr , 07/11/2022 Keep trying I was so excited to see a new app for Cub Foods, as the current one is pretty bad. I had high hopes, but honestly, pretty unimpressed. It needs to display landscape on an iPad, c’mon - that’s a no brained. Looking at weekly ads, selecting coupons from coupon book or items from ad doesn’t circle or add to list or anything. I’m using it on my iPad, open account (yes I’m logged in) it displays ‘session expired please login’. Yes, I’m on the latest version. I just want to be able to add things to a grocery list. If i want to add to a cart for online shopping, I will, but I just want to add items to a grocery list to shops from in the store. The previous version you could do that. Having to select a list every time is not helpful. I search for items and it brings me to a very limited number of options and doesn’t display what’s really in the store (the store that I’ve chosen and am logged into). If it’s not there, you can’t add to the list - which...

Wichita United Natural Foods Inc. (NYSE: UNFI), the owner of Cub Foods grocery stores in the Twin Cities, plans to hold on to the retail chain even after a disappointing quarter. However, some changes could be in the works. Sandy Douglas, CEO of Providence, R.I.-based UNFI, made the comments on Cub Foods during an earnings call with analysts this week. UNFI reported higher sales, but operating costs, inventory shrinkage, and a sharp decline in gross margins led to a 90% drop in net income, and the company slashed its full-year outlook. Our sister paper, The company's retail unit, which includes 54 Cub Foods stores and 24 Shoppers Food & Pharmacy in the Mid-Atlantic region, was the weakest performing business, with sales down slightly in the quarter. When it acquired Supervalu, UNFI was most interested in the wholesale business and had planned to sell off Cub Foods. It changed its mind after performance at Cub and Shoppers surged during the Covid-19 pandemic — and it's planning new stores "We ...
