SSC Data Entry Speed Test DEST Exam is for those candidates who are selected after SSC CGL Tier-2 for the post of Tax Assistant(TA). Data Entry Speed Test (DEST)/Skill Test DEST is meant to check both your speed and accuracy in typing on computer. In the allocated time of 15 minutes, you need to accomplish the task of 2000 key depressions on your computer. What this basically means is that you need to type passage/text which requires pressing 2000 keys on the computer keyboard in 15 minutes. Space, comma, alphabets, numeric characters – everything gets counted in the 2000 keys. Of course, you also need to be accurate. Qualification Criteria: ‘The candidates have to make a minimum of 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes to qualify. Exemptions: OH candidates who have applied for the post of Tax Assistant in CBDT (post code Z) are exempted from appearing in the DEST. VH candidates are allowed an extra time of 5 minutes. Those VH candidates who applied for a scribe in the written examination can be provided with a passage reader to aid them in the DEST.
