Delhi-NCR has been shivering under cold wave conditions with chilly winds, from the northwest, impacting the region. Cold wave conditions are recorded by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) when the minimum temperature is four degrees Celsius or lower. On Thursday, the Safdarjung weather station, which provides a marker for the city, recorded a minimum temperature of three degrees Celsius, which is four degrees below the normal and the lowest for the winter so far. The weather stations at Aya Nagar and Ridge recorded an even lower minimum temperature of 2.2 degrees Celsius, while Lodhi Road recorded 2.8 degrees. There wasn’t much respite during the day with the maximum temperature also settling at a below-normal figure of 16.5 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung. The city was enveloped in dense fog in the early hours with visibility remaining low, at around 50 m even at 8.30 am at Palam and Safdarjung. Congress leader Rajesh Lilothia's wife dies in road accident in Delhi

The wife of former Congress MLA Rajesh Lilothia was killed after the car she was travelling in was hit by another vehicle here in the national capital on Monday morning, the police said. The SUV's driver, who fled from the spot after the incident, has been arrested and booked for rash driving and causing death by negligence. (Twitter/ANI) The deceased has been identified as Madhu Lilothia (55), a resident of Anand Parvat. According to officials, the incident happened in North Delhi's Kashmere Gate area, where a speeding SUV allegedly hit the victim's car. The SUV's driver, who fled from the spot after the incident, has been arrested and booked for rash driving and causing death by negligence. He has been identified as Zainul, a resident of Seelampur, they added. DCP North Sagar Singh Kalsi told ANI that Madhu Lilothia, wife of former Congress MLA Rajesh Lilothia, met with a road accident in North Delhi's Kashmere Gate area on Monday morning. "Her car met with an accident with an SUV. Prima facie the collision is from the side," he said, adding that the accused SUV driver had fled from the scene immediately after the incident. 25 Students Among 29 Injured In Massive Pile

New Delhi: Twenty-nine people, including 25 schoolchildren, were injured in an accident at central Delhi's Salimgarh flyover today, police said. The police received information regarding the accident around 11 am. When they reached the spot, they found a pileup of four buses, an autorickshaw, a car and a motorcycle, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Shweta Chauhan said. There were 216 students in the four buses. Around 25 students, three members of school staff and one other person were injured in the accident, Mr Chauhan said.

Pedestrian dies after being hit by bus near metro station in Delhi

New Delhi, Jun 14 (PTI) An unidentified person died allegedly after a cluster bus hit him near the Nawada Metro Station here, police said on Wednesday. Police had received information on Tuesday at 10.37 pm about the fatal accident. The cluster bus had hit the pedestrian, following which a crowd gathered there, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) M Harsha Vardhan said. Police reached the spot and found that after the accident, the driver stopped the bus and passersby gathered at the spot and damaged the window pane of the vehicle, the DCP said. A case under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered and driver Amit (29) has been arrested, Vardhan said. The PCR staff who responded to the call was also obstructed in discharge of their official duty and rear window pane of the vehicle was damaged. Another case under sections of the IPC and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act has been registered, police said. Efforts are being made to identify the deceased. Further investigation is being carried out. Strict action will be taken against those found damaging the public property in this incident, they added.

In the 25-second window between 1:58:13 and 1:58:38, the accident took place between the scooty and the car, with Nidhi managing a quick escape, Anjali's body getting entangled in the wheels, and the car with five occupants dragging it. Thus, the trail of blood. The police van, seen in the footage at 2:03:43, passed the incident spot just after five minutes but did not notice anything including the trail of blood.
