Delhi horror: Men in car knew they had hit girl on scooty, 2 out of 5 accused were drunk

By Sreya Chatterjee: As the Delhi Police continues its investigation in the Sultanpuri accident that took place in the wee hours of January 1, the FIR has confirmed that the people in the car were aware that they had hit a woman on a scooty. The FIR also mentions that two out of the five accused, namely Deepak and Amit, were drunk when the incident took place. Following the incident, the Delhi Police traced the car and launched an investigation. They traced the owner of the car and arrested five people. The arrested accused have been identified as Deepak Khanna (26), Amit Khanna (25), Krishan (27), Mithun (26) and Manoj Mittal (27). The court on Monday granted Delhi Police three-day custody of the five men.

The Delhi Police has said that 20-year-old victim in the Kanjhawala road accident case, was not alone on her scooty when the incident took place. They said that another woman was also present with her when the scooty got hit by the car. Delhi Police was quoted as saying by news agency ANI, “When we traced the route of the deceased, it was found that she wasn’t alone on her scooty. A girl was with her at the time of the accident. The police said that the condition of the girl after the incident was so bad, that after being dragged on, her clothes and even the back side of her body got ripped off. The woman's family has alleged that she was sexually assaulted. Five men were in the car, a Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and they have been arrested, the police said.
