Kanjhawala Road Accident: Men removed woman’s body from car, drove away

NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old woman died a painful death after her scooty met with an accident in the midnight of New Year, and her clothes got entangled in the wheel of a car due to which she was dragged for 4-5 km in outer Delhi's Khanjawala area. The body of the woman was found on the road without any clothes. Her body was sent to the SGM hospital, Mangolpuri, where she was declared brought dead. New Delhi: New high quality security camera footage has confirmed a witness account that the 20-year-old woman, killed on Sunday early morning after her scooty was allegedly hit by a car, was dragged under the car for over an hour. The new CCTV footage shows the Maruti Baleno car making a U-turn on a road in Kanjhawala in North West Delhi, where the eyewitness, Deepak Dahiya, runs a confectionary shop. Mr Dahiya had said he saw the car take a U-turn after hitting the scooty. The footage, recorded at 3.34 am, shows the car returning to the spot where the body was found. The body can be clearly seen under the car. The witness said the car driver dragged the body of the girl, which got entangled in the undercarriage, for 18 to 20 km, and drove that way for about one-and-a-half hour. Police said the body was dragged for 12 km. "It was 3:20 am...I was standing outside the shop when I heard a loud noise from a vehicle about 100 meters away. Earlier I thought it was a tire burst. As soon as the car moved, I saw a body being dragged. I informed the police immediately," Mr Dahiya told news agency ANI. Mr Dahiya had said the accused repeatedly drove on the same road, taking multiple U-turns. "I tried to stop them many times, but they did not stop the vehicle. Delhi: Former Congress MLA's Wife Killed in Tragic Accident; SUV Driver Arrested

In a tragic accident on Monday, former Congress MLA Rajesh Lilothia’s wife Madhu Lilothia passed away. The police reported that the car she was traveling in was hit by another vehicle in the Kashmere Gate area of North Delhi. The victim, a resident of Anand Parvat, was fatally injured in the collision. Allegedly, a speeding SUV was responsible for the accident. Following the incident, the driver of the SUV fled the scene but was later arrested and charged with rash driving and causing death by negligence. He has been identified as Zainul, a resident of Seelampur, they added. News agency ANI reported that DCP North Sagar Singh Kalsi said: “Her car met with an accident with an SUV. Prima facie the collision is from the side," he said, adding the accused SUV driver had fled from the scene immediately after the incident. He said that the victim was taken to a hospital after the accident, where doctors declared her brought dead. DCP Kalsi further said the accused was later arrested on the basis of the SUV’s registration number and its owner’s information. “The accused has been identified as Zainul, a resident, of New Seelampur," he added. The police registered a case under IPC sections 279 (Rash driving) and 304 (Causing death by negligence) against the accused SUV driver and were further looking into the case.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have arrested another individual in connection with the Kanjhawala hit-and-run case. One accused is still absconding. Police have identified the sixth person to be arrested in the Kanjhawala case as Ashutosh. This follows the tragic incident in which a 20-year-old woman was killed after her scooter was struck by a car, which then dragged her for 12 kilometers from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala in the early hours of New Year's Day. • Role of other accused unravelled: Police have booked two more men — Ashutosh and Ankush — in the case. Ashutosh is reportedly the man who had the Baleno in his possession.
