DC vs GT: IPL 2023 score, result, highlight as Sudharsan leads Gujurat Titans to victory over Delhi Capitals

Gujarat Titans continue their perfect start to the 2023 Indian Premier League as they beat Delhi Capitals by six wickets. Sai Sudharsan scored an unbeaten 62 off 48 ball before David Miller came in and finished the job with 31 off 16. The Capitals were put in to bat first but could never get going. Mohammad Shami took two wickets in the powerplay before ending with figures of 3/41. Alzarri Joseph (2/29) bowled with serious pace and almost got a hat-trick. Good economical bowling from skipper Hardik Pandya and Josh Little along with three wickets from Rashid Khan (3/31) restricted DC to 162/8 in their first innings. Anrich Nortje was off to a flying start with the ball as he bowled Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill before Khaleel Ahmed also removed Pandya in the powerplay. Sudharsan then took control of the match as he put on a 50-run partnership with Vijay Shankar (29), setting the foundation for Miller to power Gujarat over the line with 11 deliveries to spare. The Titans move ahead of Rajasthan Royals to go top of the IPL table while the Capitals are in eighth. The Sporting News provided over-by-over updates and commentary of the IPL match below. Titans beat Capitals Titans won by 6 wickets (with 11 balls remaining)

Hardik Pandya, Titans captain: "It was little funny at the start. We didn't know what was happening but something was happening. We gave away 15-20 runs more in the powerplay. [On his captaincy] It is my instinct. I like to back myself. I'd rather back me and fall down than taking others' decision. I'd rather land the first punch than take the first punch. We tell the boys to enjoy. It will help to take us right decisions and someone takes us through periods when needed. Whatever happens it is okay but be out happy out there and take care of each other. [Sudharsan] He has been batting beautifully. You can see the fruit of his hard work. In two years he will do something big in franchise cricket and hopefully for India." B Sai Sudharsan, Player of the Match: "Thanks for backing me, a little nervous. First time here. I was thinking about what has to be done right, was not under pressure. It was a little bit low and skidding low. My turn was to take the game deep. It was about weathering the storm early on, because it was seaming early on." David Miller, Titans batter: "Didn't have time to get jeglagged. We were within range. It was a matter of three sixes or four fours. But a lot can happen if we leave it for too late. We started well last year, got good momentum. We got mature cricketers in the middle order. Good start gives us a good platform. Very relaxed environment on and off the field." David Warner, Capitals captain: "It swung more than I anticipated. Losing wickets i...
