DU CSAS admission portal 2023 launched for UG, PG; 3 BTech course, PhD through CUET; what's new

NEW DELHI: The University of Delhi today launched the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) admissions. DU vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh said that the university is offering 71,000 seats for 78 UG programmes. Besides, there are 198 BA programme combinations. Students who are eligible for DU admission 2023 will have to register at the DU CSAS official website, ugadmission.uod.ac.in. During CSAS admission portal launch, the DU VC Yogesh Singh said that it offered 1,553 subject combinations for UG admission and that this year the College of Arts will also be included in CSAS seat allocation. He also noted that the 1.38 lakh students showed interest in the university’s flagship programme BCom (Hons) this year. CUET will form basis of admission to PhD in DU

This decision was taken in the 1266th Executive Council meeting based on the recommendation of the Standing Committee of the Academic Council. The EC is the highest decision-making body of Delhi University. The entrance test will be through the national-based CUET (Ph.D.)-2023 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). However, the teaching and non-teaching category serving in the University of Delhi can directly appear for the interview. The University in its statement informed that teaching and non-teaching staff may be permitted to attend classes and take examinations without affecting the duties assigned during office hours. These rules for PhD will be applicable from the academic session 2023-2024, said a varsity official. Apart from these, the eligibility condition and seat matrix recommendations of the Medical Science Courses Admission Committee (MCAC) for admission to Undergraduate (MBBS/BDS) courses for the academic session 2023-2024 were also approved in the EC. Delhi University will soon conduct PhD admissions for the university through The University in a notification mentioned that on the basis of standing committee of academic council recommendations, CUET will also be administered for admissions in PhD programmes. The academic council has also discussed the issues related to admissions, attendance of undergraduate, post graduate and PhD enrolled students for the academic session 2023- 24. The PhD entrance test will be scheduled with the help of National Testing Agency. However, other teaching and non- teaching candidates serving the Delhi University can directly appear for the interview. Both teaching and non- teaching staffs will given time to attend classes and take examinations without affecting office hours. Along with it, the executive council has also approved the seat matrix and eligibility conditions for the Medical Science Course Admissions Committee. The medical course will let candidates to enroll in undergraduate MBBS/ BDS courses for 2023- 24 session. Further, MSc course in the Respiratory Therapy programme will also come under domain of CUET- PG. A Centre For Independence and Partition Studies in the university is also passed.
