About its invention, Countless people helped develop it, but the person most often credited with its invention is the computer scientist Lawrence Roberts. He is an American scientist who received the Draper Prize in 2001 and the Principe de Asturias Award in 2002 “for the development of the Internet”. The Internet has dramatically revolutionized people’s life. It has become a global means of communication in our everyday lives. It is now our preferred medium of everyday communication. In almost everything we do, we use the Internet for ordering a pizza, buying a television, sharing a moment with a friend, sending a picture over instant messaging and for so many other purposes in different fields.
