Dr Bhupen Hazarika was born on September 8, 1926 in Sadiya. Hazarika's first song was launched when he was 10 years old. At the age of 12, Hazarika was writing and recording songs for two films. In over a six-decade-long career, Hazarika created numerous compositions. In 2019, he was honoured posthumously with the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.
