The six-week training programme is being conducted by a team from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. “The e-pragati training programme is for AP government officials to familiarize and update new technologies and its usage,’’ said Associate Professor Deepa Mani. Naidu said that AP aims to emerge as number one state in using technology. He said e-Pragati should be implemented in all departments and all the certificates should be made available online. The use of new technology is expected to bring transparency in administration, creation of wealth and employment. The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a R2,030-crore e-Pragati project, a comprehensive e-governance project simplifying the process of delivery of government and citizen services. Developed in association with Wipro in eight months, this project provides a comprehensive framework for implementing e-governance, transforming the state into Digital AP and facilitating electronic delivery of services to citizens. With e-Pragati, Andhra Pradesh hopes to become the first state to conceive and execute a state-wide enterprise architecture. “This project will become a model in government enterprise architecture in India,” says N Chandrababu Naidu, chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. The e-Pragati project covers 33 secretariat departments and over 300 government agencies in the state. It seeks to provide 745 services in the government to customer (G2C), government to business (G2B), government to enterprise (G2E) and government to government (G2G) areas. It consists of 72 projects grouped into 14 packages, with an estimated outlay of Rs 2,030 crore. These will be funded and implemented over a three-year period on the basis of a public-private participation (PPP) model. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday launched ‘e-Pragati core platform’ at Undavalli, near here. e-Pragati, a forward-looking digital initiative, is aimed at connecting the citizen to 34 departments, 336 autonomous organisations and 745-plus services. Through this project, the State government intends to realise the vision of ‘Sunrise AP 2022’. The e-Pragati authority will achieve the goals of the project by supporting the seven development missions launched in the areas of e-Governance, Social Empowerment, Skill Development, Urban Development, Infrastructure, Industrial Development and the Services sector. Mr. Naidu said e-Pragati would act as a platform to connect all departments and stand alone to resolve the issues. There should be coordination between citizens and the government to solve several issues. Stating that Andhra Pradesh stood first with regard to Information Technology, Mr. Naidu said wonders could be done with IT and internet of things (IoT). The IT and IoT have been helping in a big way to improve performance of the government.
