Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Deputy CM Fadnavis Live Address Today The Media At 2 PM Maharashtra Political Crisis Supreme Court Hearing

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis addressed the media after the big Supreme Court relief and welcomed the verdict which refused to give relief to former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray as it observed that he did not face a Floor test in the Maharashtra assembly. "This is a victory for democracy and the democratic process. We are satisfied with the verdict given by the Supreme Court," Fadnavis said. "Maha Vikas Aghadi's (MVA) conspiracy has been defeated. Now, no one should doubt that the Maharashtra government is completely legal," he added. Lashing out at Uddhav Thackeray, Fadnavis said, "It doesn't suit Uddhav Thackeray to talk about morality. I want to ask him if had he forgotten his morals when he went with NCP and Congress for the Chief Minister's post. He had not resigned on moral grounds but due to fear after people who were with him left him." Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said, "I won't talk about what Supreme Court said about the then Maharashtra Governor, but I would say that he acted as per the situation at the time. What if the Floor test had happened and their (MVA) govt had failed it?" He asked, "Is he (Uddhav Thackeray) above SC or ECI that he will not let us appoint our Whip or any other office bearer and not let us use the name Shiv Sena." The apex court pronounced a verdict on a batch of petitions related to the 2022 Maharashtra political crisis that saw Eknath Shinde taking over as Chief Minister from Uddhav Thacker...

Only time will tell if people accept replacing Balasaheb’s son with Shinde as CM, says Uddhav Thackeray

Maharashtra Government Formation HIGHLIGHTS: Rebel Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde on Thursday took oath as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister while BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis was sworn-in as the Deputy Chief Minister. In his first cabinet meeting, CM Eknath Shinde decided to overturn Uddhav Thackeray government’s crucial decision of stopping metro carshed construction inside the Aarey forest. Reacting to this, Thackeray, in his first public appearance since stepping down, requested the Shinde government with “folded hands” not to endanger the lives of wild animals. After chairing the first cabinet meet, Shinde left for Goa to meet with the rest of his rebel camp. He was greeted by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Earlier, Shinde, after being named CM-designate, said that he would always be grateful for the support he received from all the rebel legislators and will never let them down. After Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde staked claim to form the government at the Raj Bhavan, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis declared that Shinde will be the new CM and he will be staying out of the government. However, in a dramatic turn of events, BJP’s central leadership has requested Devendra Fadnavis to be a part of the new government, and take the role of Deputy Chief Minister, announced BJP National President JP Nadda. Moments later, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that Fadnavis has accepted JP Nadda’s proposal and will join the Maharashtra government. Earlier, Fadnavis sa...
