The Estádio José Alvalade is a well-formed football stadium, located in Lisbon, Portugal. The construction work commenced in 2003, and an estimated amount of € 105 million was spent on it. The chief architect who designed the stadium was Tomás Taveira. It has been the home for the Sporting Clube de Portugal since 2003 which is one of the " Big Three" clubs in Portugal. The stadium has 1,315 underground parking spaces along with 30 spots for disabled spectators (as of 2017). It has been acoustically engineered to be suitable for hosting major concerts, being the center of a complex called Alvalade XXI that houses a museum for the club, a movie theater and a sports pavilion. Trivia • The stadium was featured in a Travel and Living Channel’s "World Café" (a culinary-themed show). A traditional Portuguese sweet dish was cooked in the middle of the field. • It was acclaimed as a 5-star stadium by the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) and used the stadium for conducting their major final matches.
