Rajnath Singh chairs Kendriya Sainik Board meet; gives orders on ex

On April 11, the 31st meeting of the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) was presided over by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi. The Kendriya Sainik Board is the supreme body of the federal government, state governments, and union territories tasked with overseeing the welfare and resettlement of Ex-Servicemen (ESM). Ministers of various States, Chief of the Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande; Secretary (Ex-servicemen Welfare) Shri Vijoy Kumar Singh; Secretary, KSB Commodore HP Singh; representatives from States/UTs and other senior civil & military officers were in attendance. During the conference, it was discussed how to reach out to the ESM fraternity through policy changes to further assure their welfare and resettlement. — Rajnath Singh (@rajnathsingh) Speaking at the event, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh described the veterans as national assets. He urged states and Union Territories to come up with innovative methods to use their extensive and useful experience for the good of the country. The Union Defence Minister stated that numerous states have employment reservations for ex-servicemen that must be strictly adhered to. There is a provision under which a minimum of 7 years of continuous qualifying service is required for grant of enhanced rate of Family Pension for the Armed Forces personnel. Ministry of Ayush signs MoU with Department of Ex

New Delhi: The Ministry of Ayush and Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare/ECHS, Ministry of Defence (ECHS/DoESW) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to integrate Ayurveda in ECHS Polyclinics as an OPD service for a five years period. These will be established at 10 polyclinics based at Ambala, Mysore, Ranchi, Nagpur, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Meerut, Danapur, and Allepey (Alappuzha). Ayurveda centres are already in place in 37 cantonment Hospitals, 12 military hospitals of AFMC and Ayurveda OPD in AH R&R, AF Hospital Hindan and five ECHS polyclinics. The MoU was signed on behalf of Ministry of Ayush by Dr. Manoj Nesari, Adviser (Ayurveda), Ministry of Ayush and by Maj Gen N R Indurkar, MD, Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme in the presence of Sri Pramod Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Brig Jitendra Singh, ECHS, Col AC Nishil, Director (Medical) and other officials of Ayush Ministry. According to this MoU Ayurveda OPD will be established in 10 ECHS Polyclinic/Dispensaries in various regions of India to cover all ECHS members on a voluntary basis. The Ministry will provide technical guidance from time to time and will empanel Ayurveda Doctors and Pharmacists for their engagement and provide a list of essential Ayurveda medicines and any other technical support as may be required.
