The Indian football team qualified for the final of the Intercontinental Cup 2023 football tournament with a 1-0 win over Vanuatu at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on Monday. For India, Sunil Chhetri (80’) scored the winner in the second-half to propel the hosts into the final of the ongoing tournament, which will be played on June 18. Following the win, India are placed top of the Intercontinental Cup 2023 standings with six points from two matches. India will play 99th ranked-Lebanon, who are second on the points table with four points from two outings, in their final league match on Thursday.
