Kartik Aaryan had earlier taken to his Instagram and shared a story on August 1, 2021, announcing that he had started the shoot of his movie Freddy. Aaryan has now shared a behind the scene photo from the sets of the movie. As he shared the photo he wrote that the movie had always been close to his heart and now finally it is going on floors. He wrote "A film that’s been close to my heart, long before it began. Finally, he comes to life !! Now shooting #Freddy." Kartik Aaryan will soon be seen in the movie Captain India directed by Hansal Mehta. As he shared the fort poster of his upcoming movie, he wrote, "When a man goes beyond the call of duty. With great pride and honour, we bring to you #Captain India." The upcoming film's director Hansal Mehta in a statement given to PTI said that the movie will be based on real-life events and will revisit a moment in time where a man went beyond his own pain and sufferings to save thousands. Kartik Aaryan’s latest film, 'Freddy', takes a dark and psychological route. The makers try to build a sinister and twisted world around the titular protagonist but falls short eventually. Freddy follows the dull life of dentist Freddy Ginwala who is lonely, desperate, socially awkward, and comes from a troubled home. His only companions are his grandmother, and a tortoise named Hardy. Besides his day job as a dentist, and a hobby of painting toy planes, the other activity that runs Freddy’s life is him meeting potential suitors from matrimonial sites. Kartik Aaryan begins Freddy shoot, says he is 'venturing into an uncharted territory' with romantic thriller

A day after announcing his upcoming romantic thriller titled Freddy, produced by Kartik Aaryan will also be seen in films like Dhamaka and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Kartik took to his Instagram Stories and shared a picture from the film set. Alongside the snap, he wrote, "Now shooting #Freddy." The upcoming movie will be produced by Balaji Telefilms and Jay Shewakramani (Northern Lights Films). The romantic thriller is said to be packed with unpredictable twists and sharp turns. The characters in the movie are set to take the movie buffs on a dark and chilling roller-coaster ride, where the lines between love and obsession will blur. Ferry will be directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Speaking about the movie, an ecstatic Kartik said, "As an actor, I crave to explore different facades of entertainment and with Freddy, I'm venturing into an uncharted territory which is both exciting and intriguing in equal measures." 'Freddy': Performances Kartik Aaryan is finally out of his comfort zone. He is no longer the chocolatey boy-next-door kind of guy whom every girl is falling head over heels for. In the 30-second teaser, Dr. Freddy Ginwala (Kartik) is shown in a dangerous light, and there are visuals of bloodshed, violence, and perhaps even murder. It is implied in the teaser that Freddy and Kainaaz (Alaya) are a devoted couple who hope to wed one day. Kainaaz, however, is already married to an abusive man. Bloodshed, firearms, and violence are featured in the teaser, and at one point, Freddy is seen in his dangerous form while Kainaaz is tied to his dental chair. Talking about Freddy, Kartik Aaryan had said, “Freddy was a complex script and character, the prep of the role had to be done physically and mentally as well. The character helped explore a different side of my craft and encouraged me to challenge my abilities at every step as an actor. The first time I got the opportunity to explore the dark side of me.”
