We had booked 2 early morning slots. Added one Devaliya Safari later. Good experience to visit the Gir Forest. There are 13 routes within and allotted randomly. Got to spot the lions both times. Thanks to the trackers who track the lions for their health and safety. First tour we saw a lion n lioness both relaxing. Second visit we saw a couple lion relaxing and then a family of 6 lions walking towards drinking water. A very good experience. Though could not see the lioness with the cubs but was a great experience. Lot of other animals like crocodile 🐊 gir cow 🐄 lion 🦁 birds owls dears cows peacock etc.. Nb. Also Cheetahs can be seen at devaliya Safari. Add one of them through the bus services. In case if your whole purpose of visiting Gir Wild Life Sanctuary is seeing the Lions in their natural setting, then this place guarantees it. Well the catch is - Devalia Safari Park is a well managed Safari experience. Its a enclosed jungle area of around 4 sq. kms with lot of wild life & Lions thrown in. However if the purpose is to experience actual jungle with a probable chance to catch Lion sighting then proper Gir Lion safari is the only way to go. You decide. Until the forest area is declared as national park in 1979 (Some records name this year as 1985 too), rulers of Vansda State controlled this area.
