Timed to arrive ahead of the summer travel season, Google’s bringing new features to Maps focused on discovery and navigation. New Glanceable Directions New “glanceable directions,” which Google announced in February, will start rolling out this month in the Maps app on Android and iOS. They’ll let users who opt-in track walking, cycling and driving trip progress from their lock screen or route overview, and see updated ETAs and notifications about where to make each turn. Updates to Recents Arriving alongside glanceable directions is updates to Recents on desktop, a shortcut that automatically organizes places you researched in Maps into a highlight on the side of the Maps screen. Soon, Google will save places in Recent highlights even after you’ve closed the Google Maps window, and adds tools to remove places you’ve viewed, create custom routes between destinations and share a selection of places with someone else. Expansion of Immersive View Lastly, Immersive View, Google’s AI-powered feature on the iOS and Android Maps app that fuses together images to create a multidimensional view of the world, is expanding to over 500 landmarks. I did not know these existed until yesterday, but how it works is that you need to collect 175 cinders, then you need to find a chest that is…not marked on the map at all. That would be close to impossible on your own, but the millions-strong Diablo community has found a bunch of locations all around the different Helltide spawn areas where Mystery Chests exist. Yeah uh, hard to see. Click the big one Blizzard The end result of this is a pile of anywhere from 5-8 Sacred Legendaries, easily the most I’ve ever seen from a single source, at least in World Tier 3. Even with World Bosses you’re lucky to get one or two. These are so rewarding that I do wonder if they will stay this profitable or if Blizzard will end up nerfing their contents, but for now, they are just absurd sources of incredible gear. Editor The downside is that you cannot specifically focus them for the exact piece you’re looking for. If you want to do that you can still do normal Helltide chests. But the Mystery Chest is more bang for you cinders overall. If you start a Helltide with a full hour on the clock, you should probably be able to do 2-3 Mystery Chests by the time it’s over. Not sure where else can give you what, 10-20+ Sacred Legendaries in an hour? Yeah, I feel like this is probably getting nerfed, so enjoy it while it lasts.
