If you’d like to update your business information on desktop, Note: If you have When will the Google My Business app be discontinued? Although it is somewhat efficient, the experience was not exceptional. Each app (via browser or the app) has its pros and cons so I often switch between them. Both a cover and logo have been uploaded through the app several times over the course of several days. They don't appear in the manager or browser GMB manager, but I do see them appearing elsewhere. This app is new to me and I have already encountered two problems that required Google emailing. The uploading of my menu was not working properly after I submitted it. So, when I click to upload the updated menu, nothing happens, not even after a new install. I have to wait again for their email to me. Enjoy the inconvenience, too! Not working properly. The app worked great a month back, but it seems they have updated the software. Now, as others have stated, it keeps prompting me to create a new account. Although my business is still listed on Google Maps I cannot update it or make posts using the app. Plus, you can't respond to any messages via the app. I wouldn't recommend you downloading the app until Google fixes it. I'd give them a zero-star rating if I had the chance. It is absurd that messaging can only be done with smartphones. The app is also poorly designed if there are multiple locations being managed. It is difficult to tell what location the message is coming from so I must click back on the main tab and then click 3 times for the messages to come back. It is not possible to copy and paste information that...

Google My Business: What’s Changing (And What’s Not) In 2022

If your business services customers in a local area, whether at your location or in their homes or businesses, then there’s no denying that Google has an impact on how — and if — customers find you. Many consumers of all ages and demographics use online searches as the default way to find products and services, and Google is an overwhelming choice for those searches, receiving about 86% of search traffic worldwide as of Luckily, most companies have the opportunity to list specific and detailed business information on Google for free, and a Google My Business (GMB) profile is how they do that. Read on to learn about upcoming changes, what they could mean, and how marketers can stay on top of what matters most in their own listing. In early November 2021, Google • New Name: Google My Business has been renamed “Google Business Profile.” This wasn’t surprising to many, since GMB Help documents began using the term “profile” instead of “listing” months ago. Previously, the platform was known as Google+ and Google Local, names that still appear occasionally, indicating it may be a while before “GMB” falls out of use. Editor • New Access Options: A more important change is the decision to retire the GMB app in 2022, and instead encourage business managers to access their profiles through “an upgraded experience” on Google Search or Google Maps. This option has actually been available for a while and is done by simply typing in a search for the name of your business, or the phrase...

Google ‘My Business’ is changing to ‘Business Profile’, losing app in favor of web integration

Back when Google Business was tied to Google+ as Business pages, they were easy to manage, but they weren’t perfect. There was confusion around when you were replying to people as yourself or your business since they were intrinsically tied to your Google Account. Once the company’s social spine went down for good, it transitioned companies to the “My Business” app and platform, which provided more dedicated tools to help connect with customers, and one centralized location to handle your Maps listing, interactions, and more. Now, just as it did with Simply Google searching for your business name will launch your web toolkit These changes will take place at some point in 2022 after the new year, but it’s not yet clear when exactly companies will have to adapt to their new home. As you can see from the GIF above, simply typing your business name into a Google Search box returns not only results but also page navigation for replying to customer messages, editing your business profile, creating promotions, and more. The existing Google My Business web experience will transition to primarily support larger businesses with multiple locations, and will be renamed “Business Profile Manager.” We’ll share more details on these changes in the months ahead. Google Obviously, this is all meant to simplify the experience of using Google’s tools to run your business. Claiming and verifying your ownership of a business will be done right through the search query too, so it’s clear to me ...
