JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 15-year-old young man was shot and killed on Grant Road Friday night according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Police were called to the scene on Grant Road about 9:25 p.m. When officers arrived, they found the teenager with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department took him to the hospital where he died. JSO and its homicide investigators are speaking with witnesses on the scene. At this time, investigators do not know what the suspect looks like or what led up to the shooting. Police are looking at nearby cameras that might have caught something during the shooting. MUMBAI: A 54-year-old man went on a stabbing spree in his building near Grant Road station on Friday afternoon, killing three of his neighbours-an 18-year-old girl and a senior citizen couple-and injuring two others, including his former domestic help. D B Marg police have arrested Chetan Gala and booked him for murder among other charges under the Indian Penal Code. "During preliminary interrogation, the accused said that his wife, son Dipen (24) and two teenaged daughters were not staying with him for the last two months and he suspected that his neighbours had instigated his wife," said zonal DCP Abhinav Deshmukh. "Gala is mentally disturbed but he is not undergoing any treatment. We are questioning him." "Gala, who had recently undergone an angioplasty, lives on the second floor of Parvati Mansion. The Mistrys are his immediate neighbours, while the Brahmabhatts live on the first floor," said Deshmukh. Douglas County Sheriffs find suspect that fired at passenger on Grant Road

EAST WENATCHEE, Wash.- Investigations have found the man who fired at a passenger who proceeded to flag down an officer on Grant Road before being transported to a hospital. 31-year-old Erik Farias-Reyes fired a ten-millimeter handgun at the passenger of a car in the back. Elias Mora-Ontiveros of Rock Island died after receiving first aid from officers. Farias-Reyes and his were driven away from the scene by another person. A nationwide felony extradition warrant was placed on the 31-year-old for second-degree murder, second degree attempted murder of the driver and unlawful possession of a firearm.

New Albany double murder, abduction suspect shot by officers

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WAVE) - Officers shot a suspect in a double murder at a gas station in New Albany after he allegedly sped away in a car, crashed it, ran into a restaurant, and abducted a woman on Monday morning. Around 10 a.m., New Albany Police officers were sent to a Circle K on Grant Line Road on a shooting report. Once there, officers found two shooting victims, a man and a woman, dead, New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey said. Officers then saw who they believed to be the suspect speed away in a red SUV. As officers from NAPD and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department pursued the suspect, he crashed his car on Kamer Miller Road and fled into The Onion, a nearby restaurant. Bailey said the suspect kidnapped a woman and forced her into a car at the restaurant. He said the hostage is believed to not be related to the incident at Circle K. When officers caught up with him, he became aggressive, according to Bailey, and the officers shot and “disabled” him. He was then brought to UofL Hospital. “After an initial review of the incident, it appears all officers at the scene of the officer involved shooting followed policy and acted appropriately,” Bailey said. The hostage was also taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries, according to police. The suspect’s name has not been released, nor have the identities of the victims found dead. The Indiana State Police, Floyd County Sheriff and Clark County Sheriff’s Office are assisting with the investigation.

The grisly incident took place around 3.30 pm at Parvati Mansion on Grant Road, an official said, adding that the accused was soon arrested. He had been mentally disturbed ever since, and on Friday, upon spotting his neighbours, he went to his house, picked up a knife and allegedly attacked five persons from neighbouring families. The injured were rushed to a private hospital in Girgaum and civic-run Nair hospital where a couple, Jayendra and Neela Mistry, and two more women died during treatment, the official said. Another man was undergoing treatment. After the incident, the accused locked himself inside a room in the building. He refused to come out when the police reached the spot, but relented when they threatened to "break the door and hit" him, said the official. Police took him into custody and also recovered the knife used in the attack. He allegedly admitted to the crime while telling the officials that he was disturbed after his family members abandoned him. MUMBAI: Chetan Gala, 54, who allegedly killed three people, including a teenaged girl, and injured two others with a knife in his Grant Road building on Friday, suspected that one of the injured persons, Prakash Waghmare, was trying to be too friendly with his wife and hence stabbed him as well. Waghmare, 53, is undergoing treatment. Gala, whose wife and children left him two months ago, and went to stay at his mother's house in a nearby building, was desperate to get his wife back home. "Besides Waghmare, he also suspected other people in the building who talked to his wife," said a police officer. Gala, who lived in Parvati Mansion at Grant Road, has been jobless for the last 12 years. The D B Marg police have arrested Gala and booked him for murder. "Before he stabbed five people on Friday, Gala had called up his son telling him to ask his mother to return home and stay with him," said an officer. Gala used to pick fights with his wife and children and would inquire who they were talking to over the phone, police said. Police said the items seized in connection withe the crime will be sent for a forensic examination. The deceased were identified as Jayendra Mistry (77), his wife Ilabai (70) and Jenil Brahmabhatt (18), a science student. Jenil's mother Snehal (44) and Gala's former help Prakash Waghmare (53) are undergoing treatment. The Mistrys were Gala's immediate neighbours, while the Brahmbhatts live on the first floor.

The Grant Road resident, who was remorseless during the initial days of his arrest, has been crying endlessly to see his family, fearing he will get the death penalty, they added. Angered by his family’s refusal to stay back with him, Gala on Friday went on a knife spree, attacking his neighbours at Parvati Mansion, killing an elderly couple and a teenager.
