LIVE UPDATES: Haryana Zila Parishad Elections Results 2022, Latest Counting News, Updates: The counting of votes for panchayat samiti and zila parishad polls in Haryana was underway on Sunday, said officials. The exercise began at 8 am, they said. Tight security arrangements have been made at the counting centres. Haryana State Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh has said all arrangements are complete for counting of votes in the polls to elect members of 143 panchayat samitis and 22 zilla parishads. Necessary directions have been given to all officials involved in the counting of votes on Sunday, he said in an official statement. If any fault is found in electronic voting machines, engineers of the Bharat Electronics Limited and the Electronic Corporation of India Limited will deal with the situation, he said. On November 22, the elections to 143 panchayat samitis and 22 zilla parishads were held, while on November 25, the elections of panches and sarpanches of all gram panchayats were completed. A maximum of 14 counting tables and a minimum of 10 counting tables have been arranged at each counting centre, Singh said. Police and general observers will closely monitor the entire counting process, he said. Singh said videography will also be done at all the counting centres. Police have been put on high alert mode to deal with any untoward incident, the official added. Haryana EC announces second phase of panchayat elections from Nov 9

Haryana State Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh on Friday said that in the second phase, elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions will be held in nine districts including Ambala, Charkhi Dadri, Gurugram, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa and Sonipat districts. In these districts, voting for members of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti will be held on November 9, and on November 12 polls for the posts of Sarpanch and Panch will be held. Addressing the media persons in Panchkula, Singh said that with the election announcement, the model code of conduct has come into force in the rural areas of the above nine districts with immediate effect. The code of conduct will not be implemented in the remaining 4 districts. He said that the voting of Sarpanch, members of Panchayat Samiti, and Zilla Parishad would be done through EVM. The polling for the Panches will be done through ballot paper. To ensure the smooth completion of the election process, about 36,000 employees and officers have been deputed. The results of the Sarpanch and Panch will be declared after the election on the same day, while the results of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will be declared after the completion of all three phases.
