Hazrat Umar (RA), the son of Al-Khattab, was born in 584- 589 CE. He was one of the most powerful and influential Muslim caliphs in history. He was a sahabi (companion) of the holy prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He succeeded in the first caliph of Islam Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radi Allahu ta’ala Anhu). Hazrat Umar (RA) belonged to the Adi family of the Quraish tribe. In the 8th generation, his lineage joins with Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It was Hazrat Umar under whose rule Islam became an international power and within ten years of his glorious rule, the whole of the Persian Empire, Syria, Palestine, Egypt and a part of Turkey came under the banner of Islam and the nations entered the fold of Islam.
