HCL Foundation HCL Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the multinational company HCL, was established in 2011. It aims to bring about lasting positive impact in the lives of people through long-term sustainable programmes in education, health, livelihoods and environment, as well as providing disaster response and rehabilitation support. The following are our flagship programmes – • CLEAN NOIDA • HCL SAMUDAY • HCL UDAY • HCL GRANT • POWER OF ONE NOIDA is a bustling metropolitan with all the dynamics and complexities associated with one. As the city grows exponentially day by day, so does the amount of municipal solid waste generated within its periphery. With its corporate headquarters in NOIDA, UP and realising that there is a need for long-term vision to manage solid waste, HCL Foundation has partnered with NOIDA Authority to strengthen city’s waste management system and contribute in making it one of the cleanest cities in the country. HCL Foundation has launched an initiative Clean NOIDA and intends to carry out works and services to implement effective solid waste management in Noida city.This initiative aims to transform the city into a litter and waste free region, covering all Residential Welfare Associations and urban villages. It is a gold standard not for profit organization that matches the national and international development standards and brings about lasting positive impact in the lives of people through long term sustainable programmes implemented in full engagement with HCL’s own employees and partners. Though HCL Foundation officially came about in 2011, its humanitarian journey pre-dates its inception. As an organization, HCL’s business model has always been aligned with the interests of the society at large. HCL Samuday, a flagship program of HCL Foundation

Established in 2015, Samuday intends to develop a sustainable, scalable, and replicable model – a source code for economic and social development of rural areas in partnership with central and State Governments, local communities, NGOs, knowledge institutions and allied partners. We do this through optimal interventions across Agriculture, Education, Health, Infrastructure, Livelihood, and WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) in selected villages. The program is designed to help the local people identify their problems, co-create solutions, and then implement the same on their own with professional support from team Samuday, thereby, lending the dimension of sustainability and ownership to the whole vision of development. Currently implemented in three blocks – Kachhauna, Behender and Kothawan – in Uttar Pradesh, HCL Samuday is operational in 765 villages from 164 Gram Panchayats, comprising of 90,000 households and impacting around 600,000 people. • 40,000+ marginal farmers benefitting from multiple agriculture-related interventions • 55,000+ children receiving education in 357 Happy Schools (Primary and Upper-primary govt. schools) • 68,000+ adults supported to attain functional literacy • 32,000+ pregnant women and 25,000+ children provided with improved healthcare • 90,000 households with increased access to general healthcare (OPD and diagnostic services) from Telemedicine centers and Mobile Health Clinics • 32 solar mini grids bringing electricity to 41 villages • 12,0...

HCL Foundation extends partnership with National Co

HCL Foundation extends partnership with National Co-operative Union of India (NCUI) under the Ministry of Cooperation HCL Foundation and National Co-operative Union of India (NCUI) under the Ministry of Cooperation, GoI, have joined hands to establish skill development centers, foster the cooperative movement and uplift communities across India. This pilot project focuses on empowering artisans, women, and youth; driving socio-economic development and creating a ripple effect of positive change. Through collaborative efforts, a culture of cross-promotion and knowledge-sharing will be cultivated benefiting the skill and livelihood development of the entire community. Over the next 3 years, our mission is to empower over 5000 participants, by offering sustainable income-generation activities. The MoU was signed by Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Chief Executive, NCUI and Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Vice-President, Global CSR, HCL Foundation in the presence of Shri Dileep Sanghani, Chairman, NCUI. Further, HCL Foundation and HCLTech Grant have not authorized any individual or agency or organization to accept the application on its behalf. HCL Foundation will not hold any responsibility for any fee charge by the individual or agency from the applicant NGO.

The contribution of NGOs towards nation building is immense. HCL defines it as the Fifth Estate. HCLTech Grant is a step towards recognition of the rise of the Fifth Estate - the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). The Fifth Estate has now become a critical agent of change, playing a decisive role in building a stronger, future-ready India. Started in 2015, the HCLTech Grant is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment by HCL, through HCLTech Grant is HCL’s contribution towards Nation Building. The vision behind HCLTech Grant is to mine out best practices and most successful models of rural development that are relevant in various contexts. Provide a platform where these models receive unprecedented visibility and replicated by many, such that the country excels in achieving the developmental milestones. Unique aspect of the HCLTech Grant is that the organizations are recognized not only based on the “idea”, but also for their power to transform these ideas into reality and thereby, transform Indian villages. HCLTech Grant awards the winning NGOs in each of the categories of Education, Health and Environment ₹ 5 crore for a 5 years project. Various flagship programmes and special initiatives of the Foundation endeavor to contribute toward national and international development goals, bringing about lasting positive impact on people and the planet through long-term sustainable programmes with thematic focus on Education, Health & Sanitation, Skill Development & Livelihood, Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction & Response. Child protective strategies, inclusion, and gender transformative approaches remain central in all initiatives of the HCL Foundation, thus ensuring equitable development and opportunities for all. A patch of land near Singanallur Railway Station in Coimbatore, was a dump yard where the residents disposed their garbage. In April 2019, HCL Foundation partnered with an NGO - Siruthuli and Indian Railways to transform this 2.5-acre dump yard into a vibrant lush mini-forest. A dedicated intensive outreach programme was initiated to ensure community participation and campaigns were launched to… Priyanka and her husband lost their jobs to the pandemic and the ensuing lockdown. With no income coming in and a child to feed, the young family was desperate. It was at this challenging time, that Priyanka encountered the Clean Noida project in September 2020. One year later, a confident Priyanka is a respected sanitation worker in her area, collecting around 60 – 70...
