Had dinner here which is a vegetarian restaurant. Ordered the vegetarian biryani and Dal Kichidi which were really good. The portions were huge too and it was a little too much for 2 persons. It’s located below the hotel Lunar reception and conveniently located close to Chowrasta street. Staff was friendly and helpful too. We enjoyed our dinner here. I have eaten here everyday since I arrived in Darjeeling and I will continue to do so until I leave. The food is excellent, I have tried both the north indian and south indian menu, and can recommend both. I loved the paneer tikka butter masala, the garlic naan, and the masala dosa. I look forward to trying more of what they have to offer on the huge menu. Place is very clean, staff is very attentive, and service is very fast. Thank you!! During our stay in Darjeeling, we had food at Hotel Lunar multiple times. The quality of food was great - my daughter loved their fried idli very much. In fact, one night for dinner she did not want to have the food served at our hotel and asked me to get the fried idli ...

Had been to Lunar Restaurant in mid March,around lunch time. Though the stair case is windy and narrow, the dining hall is spacious and over looks Chow Raasta of Darjeeling. A strategic location. The waiters and the captain are polite and service is fast. A la Carte dishes which we ordered were of excellent quality. Very tasty. For 12 people 6 by 12 soup and not more than 3 dishes each of two vegetable, pakodas,tandoor naan, rice made ouir bill around 5000. Oops !!!!!!!! Though we stayed at the dekeling, but ate here mostly as 2 in group were veg. The food quality was great and taste comparable to top south and north Indian veg restaurants. Very reasonably priced too. Non spicy stuff and even south Indian is very good. Best veg in the area for sure, amongst others we tried.

I ordered hot and sour veg soup and after having it half way, i noticed something strange in between vegetables.. when i had a closer look it was a "ant fly"..when i reported to the waiter there..he took the bowl away and later mentioned that it was a piece of "Ginger".. they also refused to bring back the bowl to prove it was ginger.. as i dint have any photos they were on safer side.. After all this.. they were not even sorry about it, did not ask for a refund or didn't even bring another fresh soup... Ve...
