Maruti's Toyota Innova Hycross

By India Today Auto Desk: Maruti Suzuki India will unveil a new premium multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), which will be based on the Toyota Innova Hycross, on July 5. According to sources, the Maruti MPV will not be exactly similar to the Toyota Innova Hycross. There will be some exterior differences, like there are between the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The Maruti MPV might come with a slightly redesigned grille and lights (headlights and taillights), and brand logos (Suzuki instead of Toyota). Other than that, both MPVs will more or less be similar. Maruti will sell this premium MPV from Nexa dealerships, which also offer the Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6, Fronx, Grand Vitara and the recently-launched 5-door Jimny. At Maruti's annual financial results press conference in April, the company's Chairman R C Bhargava said that one new product that we will introduce will be a vehicle sourced from Toyota and that will be a three-row strong-hybrid model. "This will be a top-of-the-line kind of a vehicle in terms of price," he said, adding that it will come in roughly two months or so. The Toyota Innova Hycross was launched in India in December 2022 and is currently priced between Rs 18.55 lakh and Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It has two engine options -- 2.0-litre VVTi petrol and 2.0-litre VVTi petrol with the fifth-generation SHEV system. The MPV is available in six variants -- G, GX, VX, VX(O), ZX and ZX(O). In April, Toyota halted bookings for the...

Toyota Innova Hycross India details revealed; launch in January

• Hycross hybrid has claimed fuel efficiency of 21.1kpl • First Innova to be based on monocoque construction • Debuts Toyota’s ADAS tech in India Toyota Innova Hycross: exterior design The Innova Hycross looks almost identical to the Zenix that was revealed in Indonesia. For the new-generation model, Toyota has given the Innova a more SUV-like appearance with an upright grille, a raised bonnet line and body cladding all around. The hexagonal grille gets a gunmetal finish, there are automatic LED headlamps and a wide front bumper with silver accents that accentuate the width of the MPV. In profile, the Hycross features a distinctive MPV silhouette and gets a strong shoulder line and flared wheel arches. In fact, it looks quite similar to the Veloz MPV that Toyota sells in some international markets. Toyota has also revised the glasshouse near the D-Pillar to give it a stylish rear quarter look. At the rear, the Innova Hycross gets a roof-mounted spoiler, chunky LED tail-lights, scooped-out number plate housing and blacked-out rear bumper. Like the Crysta, the new Hycross gets a large glasshouse, promising good visibility for all three rows. It gets bigger, 10-spoke alloys finished in chrome, giving a premium look. The Hycross measures 4,755mm in length and 1,850mm in width – both slightly more than the Innova Crysta. When it comes to the wheelbase, the new Innova Hycross is also 100mm longer. Toyota Innova HyCross Review: Hybrid Theory

Toyota has loaded the Innova HyCross with tons of features, creature comforts, and ADAS functionalities, but a big change is that the Innova HyCross gets a front-wheel drive monocoque architecture underpinned by the TNGA-C platform, as well as heaps of visual enhancements on the inside and outside. What exactly does this mean for our readers? a lot, sure, but more on that later. After the Exterior The design of the Toyota Innova HyCross has changed drmatically, yet there are still a few light strokes that resemble to the previous Toyota Innova. This vehicle appears to be an Moving to the side, the Innova HyCross looks very identical to the previous Innova, except for larger 18-inch alloy wheels, smaller windows, and a tapering rear portion with a sweeping roofline. The quarter glass for the third row has also been decreased, reducing the space provided by previous versions. The heavily flared wheel arches are now squarish, which frees up a lot of space between them and the wheels and could have been compensated for with a chunkier set of wheels. Its hybrid heart is indicated by the 'Hybrid' label on either side. The rear maintains the family design with a robust bumper and wraparound taillights that are also LED-lit. The stance is also good and goes well with the overall proportions. So the new design of the Innova HyCross is rather butch, and while the SUV-inspired style may take some getting used to, the Innova now appears even more contemporary and stylish than before. ...
