The wicketkeeper-batter remained unbeaten on 31* as India posted 80 for one at Stumps. Bharat will resume batting with Hanuma Vihari (9*) on Day 3. Earlier, Rishabh Pant was the star of the Leicestershire innings as they were all out for 244 runs. Pant hit 14 fours and a six as he slammed 76 off 87 balls. Cheteshwar Pujara couldn't replicate Pant's form for the hosts and was dismissed for a duck by Mohammed Shami. India had earlier declared on their overnight score of 246/8 at stumps on Day 1. Chasing 367, the hosts reached 219 for four in 66 overs as Kimber (58*) and Evison (15*) remained unbeaten. Earlier on Day 4, India declared on their overnight total of 364 for seven. Half-centuries by Ravindra Jadeja (56*), Shreyas Iyer (62) and Virat Kohli (67) helped India set a target of 367 runs. India received a major setback in the early morning hours of Sunday as captain Rohit Sharma tested positive for Covid-19; the BCCI confirmed the development on their official Twitter account, stating that the skipper had tested positive for the virus in the Rapid Antigen Test on Saturday.
