Rohit Sharma to lead as we look at the official squad players list for the 2022 India vs Bangladesh ODI and Test series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday officially announced the Test and ODI series squad for the 2022 Bangladesh tour. Unlike the New Zealand tour which will have many senior players being rested, the Bangladesh series will see a near-to-full-strength squad for Team India. The Bangladesh tour, which begins just after the New Zealand tour will see Rohit Sharma captaining the ODI as well as the Test side. As expected, KL Rahul shall be his deputy, who will take the duties from Shikhar Dhawan. Team India will be playing a 3-match ODI series and a 2-match Test series starting December 4. While the ODI series shall be played from December 4 to December 10, the Test series shall be played from December 14 to December 26. Coming to the key changes in the ODI squad as compared to the ODI squad that was selected for the New Zeland, only Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar, Shaardul Thakur, and Deepak Chahar are repeated. Top-order batsman Zakir Hasan has received a maiden call-up for the 1st test to replace Tamim Iqbal. Zakir Hasan was magnificent recently in the 1st unofficial test between India A and Bangladesh A. The batter scored 173 runs and fought hard to draw the contest. The Bangladeshi selectors praised the cricketer and said Hasan was on the selector’s radar for the last couple of years owing to his fantastic consistency. “Zakir is one of the most talented young players and has been on our radar for the last five years,” Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin said on Thursday. “He was in the high performance unit, and this season he was the highest scorer in first-class cricket.
