IND: 79/4 (9) vs NZ: 160 (19.4)

Team India produced a superb all-round performance led by Suryakumar Yadav with the bat and the spin trio with the ball as they bamboozled the hosts in the second T20I. Since the first game was washed out, India have a 1-0 lead and would want to extend it further and win the series as they take on hosts New Zealand, who will be without their skipper Kane Williamson. The rain gods strike Rain stops play after 9 overs of the Indian run chase, as the ground staff cover the pitch. India are currently on 75/4, and according to the Duckworth Lewis method they are at par with the score required to win the game at this stage of the game. Hence, India will win the contest if rain stops play from hereon Rishabh, Ishan, Shreyas - India in early trouble 161 seemed like a moderate chase for India as they are coming off from a game where they scored 191. However, as it turned out New Zealand bowlers were sensational as they dismissed Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer cheaply to reduced India to 21/3. Glenn Phillips starting to get a move on Slowly and steadily Devon Conway and Glenn Phillips rebuilt the innings and brought up a 50-run stand for New Zealand. As soon as they crossed the 12-over mark Phillips lost all inhibitions and went after Yuzvendra Chahal as the Blackcaps will now be targeting a score of 180. NZ vs IND 3rd T20I

Bizarre end then, like it so often happens when DLS comes into play. India finished on 75 for 4, which was the par score according to DLS after the end of nine overs, when rain came falling. The game could not continue, and the end result: The third T20I ends in a tie with India taking the series 1-0. That's that then. Thank You for joining what has been a fun series. Sud's Hardik Pandya, the winning captain: We would have liked to won this game, but that is how it is. We don't mind getting a trophy and going back with a win. Offense is the best defense on this wicket. They have a good bowling attack and it was important we went ahead in the power play even though we lost a few wickets. A game like this would have given the opportunity to the rest of the batters. I would have liked to play the 20 overs, and would have liked to win it that way but these things can't be control. [On the ODIs] Will be good to watch, yes. I am going home, will be with my son and should be a good series. Tim Southee, the New Zealand captain: The end with the bat was disappointing. We took early wickets, but unfortunately the weather came again. We left some runs out there. But it would have been an interesting game, if it went the full way. There was some confusion with the DLS. We will give Santner a bit of grief (on the misfield) but such things happen. It was a good bowling effort from us. Will be nice to get some one-day cricket against India. Hopefully will be a good crowd. Suryakumar Yada...

India beat New Zealand India won by 90 runs

9.25pm Rohit collects the trophy from the podium, carries it like a 20-litre water can on his right shoulder and passes it on to his team-mates with the "Champions" banner in front of them. It gets passed around and reaches Thakur and KS Bharat in the middle with plenty of smiles all around them. Hope we got you some smiles too while covering this game. That's all from me, Vishal Dikshit, and on behalf of Sidharth Monga, it's goodbye and good luck. Don't forget to tune in tomorrow for our post-match and series coverage, from Deiva Muthu who has been going around from one stadium to another. And we also have the T20I series starting on Friday, January 27th. Until then, it's ciao ciao! Rohit Sharma before lifting the trophy: In the last six games we've done most things right in ODIs. We're consistent in our approach with the bat and ball. Without Siraj and Shami we wanted to give opportunities to other guys on the bench. We wanted to bring Chahal and Umran in the mix, put them under pressure. We had runs on the board, but on this kind of ground no total is safe. We stuck to the plans, held our nerves. Shardul has been doing this for a while, so some people call him 'Magician'. every time I've given Kuldeep the ball, he brings wickets. Just need to give him more games under his belt, because wristspinners get better as they play more. His [Gill's] approach is quite similar. He starts afresh. As a young players that is important. He can easily sit on top of his laurels and tak...
