IPL 2022 Player Auction list announced IPL Media Advisory February 01, 2022 IPL 2022 Player Auction list announced The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Player Auction list is out with a total of 590cricketers set to go under the hammer during the two-day mega auction which will take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13, 2022. This will be the 15 thseason of the IPL and some of the biggest stars of world cricket will be coming together to light up the prestigious tournament. Amongst 590 players who have registered for the auction, 228 are capped players, 355 are uncapped players and 7 belong to Associate Nations. The auction was heavily dominated by the all-rounders, who were in massive demand. Several prominent players will go under the hammer and it would be interesting to see what the final squads would look like. Here is all you need to know about the bidding event. Time, date, and live streaming details As mentioned above, the IPL 2023 mini-auction will take place on Friday (December 23). The auction event will take place in the Grand Hyatt hotel in Kochi, Kerala. The live coverage of the bidding event will get underway at 2:30 PM (IST). While Star Sports Network holds the telecast right of the event, Viacom 18 will offer live streaming on Jio Cinema. How many players will go under the hammer? What is the minimum/maximum number of players each team can have in their squad? By the end of the auction, each team should have a minimum of 18 players and a maximum of 25 players in their squad. They also need to spend a minimum of INR 67.5 crore (USD 9 million approx.) from their total purse of INR 90 crore (USD 12 million approx.). And each squad can have at most eight overseas players in the squad. How many players will be part of the bidding on the first day? A minimum of 97 players will be up for bidding on Saturday*. If time permits, it will go on till player number 106 or player number 116. The first 18 sets (till player 161) will be presented for auction the next day before moving on to the accelerated process.
