New Zealand beat Ireland New Zealand won by 31 runs

Ireland captain Andy Balbirnie: "I thought we started pretty well with the ball and had a good Powerplay. They batted well in the last 10 and set us an above par total. We wanted to hold them to 150. We had a poor Powerplay on the batting side. It got away from us in the end. We had a couple of relatively good partnerships in the middle but nothing substantial." New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner: "It wasn't easy. The composure Glenn showed to get us to a good score and then the bowlers, it was a good win. Trying to build those partnerships with the bat and get to the death phase, the Neesham innings helped us get to a good score. It was a tough wicket. We've come up against a good Irish team. If it wasn't for Glenn, we were probably looking at 140 or 150 which might not have been enough. Wickets in the Powerplay were key and for Lockie and Duffy to do that was good. The changes of pace today were outstanding. The legcutter and bumper were not easy." bouncer down the leg side, Young flinches trying to get out of the way but there's a sound and an appeal upheld for caught behind down the leg side. Young takes 10 seconds before calling for DRS. Might as well since he's the last wicket. Ultraedge confirms there was glove on this. Game over. New Zealand win by 31 runs. yorker speared into the legs, late on a flick and the ball caroms to point. NZ goes for DRS just at the final moment. This is missing leg stump by some distance live. No way would they have reviewed this in no...

Oh, that is a stunning ball to claim a hat-trick. On a length tailing slightly into Santner. He misses and is caught dead in front. He reviews, again, more in hope than anything else. The ball tracker confirms that would have missed off, missed leg and smashed into middle pole. Only the second Irishman to take a hat-trick in T20Is. . 174/6 5.5 toFH Allen, gone, flung to mid-off! Hand does well to stick the ball into his fingers, considering it was forced away off Allen's bat. Fullish delivery outside off, as Allen eyed another boundary and drilled this back hard and flat. Hand had to take half a skip to ensure the ball came on to him at a comfortable height, and grabbed it well. 52/1 11.2 toDP Conway, Wrong'un and this time Delany gets his man! Flighted outside off, he looks to go straight but can only get it off the bottom of the bat. Long on is in place and completes a comfortable catch. The straight boundaries are very long and Conway had no timing on that whatsoever. End of a difficult innings ...

New Zealand beat Ireland New Zealand won by 35 runs

Andy Balbirnie: We played a top-class team, and were a bit off in the middle and when you play a top-class team you have to capitalise, which we did not after the start we got. We bowled pretty well, but our fielding has been a bit off in the tournament. The guys have played really well. We have been happy with the effort. We caused a couple of upsets, we are playing better cricket than we were in the last 12 months, every one is starting to show their class. Kane Williamson: A really good team performance which was required. We knew what Ireland were capable of. They have played some stunning cricket. We played to our best and came out well. It [The ball] was just holding in the surface standing up. The openers did a great job to give a good PP. The Guys played well throughout the innings and adjusted nicely. We made those adjustments with the ball in the middle overs. Try and take your options and work with your partner at the other end. One's going and the other one is trying to make the adjustments. [On the spinners] We spoke about that. It was just about bowling a little bit slower and adjust your line. They made the adjustment beautifully and pulled the game back. 6pm Another solid performance from the Blackcaps who seem to always bring their A-game in World Cups. It was Kane Williamson's turn to silence the doubters today with a solid half-century as New Zealand racked up 185 for 6 despite a Josh Little hat-trick. The chase would always be tricky but Ireland got off...
