The Government of India launched the Jan Samarth portal, a one-stop digital platform linking government scheme-sponsored subsidies and loans with eligible beneficiaries. It is a national digital portal for eligible beneficiaries to avail of credit-linked government initiatives. It’s a unique digital portal comprising different government schemes providing easy access to all the related stakeholders and beneficiaries. The primary purpose of the Jan Samarth portal is to develop various sectors and encourage inclusive growth by providing them with the right type of government benefits through easy and simple digital processes. The portal ensures end-to-end coverage of all the credit-linked government schemes. This one-stop digital portal has 13 government credit initiatives on a single platform with four loan categories. With the help of the Jan Samarth portal, the beneficiaries and lenders can connect seamlessly. The portal’s main advantage is the quick application process through which a beneficiary can check their criteria and eligibility, upload required documents and process the business loan application quickly. JanSamarth: Launch of new government portal

The Government of India has launched a new portal - JanSamarth Portal, a unique one-stop digital portal linking all government schemes. This new portal has been launched to provide a one-stop destination for all government schemes available for financial assistance for different industries and lenders on board. At present, the portal has 13 schemes in 4 different categories under which loans can be taken by the eligible businesses from the 125+ lenders which have been onboarded on the platform. The loans can be applied for higher education, a loan for setting up a new business or expanding an existing business, loans for Individuals and Self Help Groups(SHG), and loans for developing agricultural infrastructure, clinics, and business centres. The following schemes are presently catered on this new government portal: 1. How to apply for loan using the government's JanSamarth Portal

One can register on the portal by providing the mobile number and email id, and then completing the OTP authentication process. Any individual can avail of a loan on the portal if they fulfill the eligibility criteria of the respective credit scheme. The applicant can choose the category of loan and take an eligibility questionnaire that allows them to ascertain if they are eligible to apply for the loan under one or more schemes. Application Once the eligibility questionnaire is filled, the portal will show the schemes under which a loan can be granted along with the EMI, period of loan and subsidy eligible, if any. It also displays the list of various banks offering the loan under the scheme. The applicant can choose any of the schemes, and once selected, the portal will take the applicant to the website of the particular scheme/bank to complete the online application. After the online form is filled and necessary documents are uploaded, and if the application is accepted, the applicant will receive a digital approval for the loan. • Information, eligibility criteria, subsidy and all information about each credit scheme is provided on the portal for the applicant to choose the most suitable scheme. • Status of the loan application can be checked on the portal.
