Srinagar: The Health and Medical Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has sanctioned the promotion of 243 faculty members of the Medical Education cadre associated with various Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) of J&K. While congratulating the faculty members on their promotion, the Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar, expressed his confidence that the Government Medical Colleges in J&K would develop as Centers of Excellence in teaching, research and patient care. Based on the recommendation of the J&K Public Service Commission, the government has promoted 92 members from the Government Medical College Srinagar and 73 members from the Government Medical College of Jammu. The remaining promotions took place in the newly developed GMCs of J&K, including 20 faculty members of GMC Anantnag, 15 of GMC Baramulla, 12 of GMC Doda, 17 of GMC Kathua and 14 of GMC Rajouri, reports the The Health and Medical Education Department had been undertaking various measures over the past few months to resolve the service-related issues at the GMCs of J&K.
