THE 15 BEST Things to Do in Kanyakumari

One must visit this place but people do not maintain silence in Dhyan Mandir. May be good to visit during off season. In May it was crowded. no photography allowed inside still some people want to take pix. Ferry cost is high. Rs.75/- for about a km sailing and special entry ticket is 300/- But when you come back all must follow same que. no value for special ticket...:( Maintenance of the memorial is very good. If you want to climb up to dhyan mandir again pay 30/- From there another ferry will take you to Tiruvalluvar statue drop and the next ferry can be used to come back. Overall it is good but charges are high. We went to the temple in the evening hours. There is a parallel system of 'Paid Darshan' and 'Free Darshan'. The Priests at the Entrance insisted everyone to go for 'Paid Darshan', though there was no rush at all. However the amount is only Rs.20/- per head. Men have to enter the temple Bare-chested, but you can carry your Shirt etc in hand. The Temple is huge with large boundary and have a massive structure with a great architecture. Although they call it a Sun Set Point, its exactly not the place where you can see the Sun Set. It depends on the time and month you visit. You have a lot of places like this here in Kanyakumari starting from the beach and goes up-to Madaikadu, Kolachal etc for Sun Set Views. Ideal place to spend time with family. Not much shops or eatables available. On the main road there are Tea shops and Toilets. Visit here earlier and leave b...

Kanyakumari Beach

I do not wish to rate Kanyakumari based on beach experience. Kanyakumari is a beautiful place blessed by nature. But unfortunately TN government has ignored most temple places. Basic infrastructure and cleanliness is totally ignored. Beach side or sunrise side is a public toilet. Near sunset point there are fake people collecting parking fee of 100, but no parking is provided by them. The sunset point is dirty and creates a bad impression. Inspite of all this Kanyakumari is a beautiful place. We stayed at Hotel Tamilnadu, which is a beautiful property with peacocks moving around like pets. Vivekananda Rock is a must visit. Kanyakumari Devi temple is also awesome. The Triveni Sangam just behind the temple is also a good point to visit. After 5 years I'm visiting here and I can see the place got improved alot. It is clean and neat. So many street shops. Whoever love to drink wine 🍷🍷🍷there is a wine&dine restaurant on the beach side itself. Also there is a food court which is newly opened called Sea shore, such a lovely place with many options. The sea view dining is always more awesome than anything else. There are police guards everywhere to direct the people which is really appreciated 👏👏 (still more safety control required). All total this visit made me unforgettable. 🤗..... I wish next time also I'll get an unforgettable experience. It is good but not good in terms of cleanliness and maintenance, you see there is huge number of food stalls are there and people after havi...
