Big Bang member Taeyang has hit a milestone, with the music video for his song “Ringa Linga” topping 100 million views on YouTube as of midnight Friday. Representing Big Bang, YG Entertainment celebrated the achievement by uploading a poster on its official blog. (YG Entertainment) “Ringa Linga,” a solo track released by Taeyang in November 2013, features powerful dance choreography and catchy hooks that differed from his previous solo songs. Previous music videos for his solo tracks, such as “I Need a Girl” and “Wedding Dress,” focused mostly on Taeyang’s mellow voice and had edgy choreography that showcased his dance skills. (YG Entertainment) In contrast, the music video for “Ringa Linga” highlighted Taeyang and backup dancers’ powerful moves, filmed in black and white. With the new milestone, Big Bang has become the first K-pop group with a record 15 music videos topping 100 million views on YouTube. Their record-setting music videos include “Fantastic Baby,” “Blue” and “Bae Bae.” All the members of the veteran boy group, except Seungri, are currently serving their mandatory military duty. While Indian fans are looking up to various K-pop artists, India has finally got its first-ever K-Pop sensation, an 18-year-old singer from Odisha, Shreya Lenka, who goes by her stage name Sriya. Reportedly, she has been chosen as one of the newest members of the South Korean girl group Blackswan. Recently, the singer opened up about her journey of being India’s first-ever K-Pop artist and revealed the challenges she faced. Later, as she grew up, her fondness for South Korean songs increased. In May 2022, she was selected for the last leg of training in Seoul to become the newest member of the K-Pop band Blackswan along with a 19-years-old Brazillian girl, named Gabriela. Surprisingly, the agency was supposed to pick one member but they selected both the girls.
