The 31-year-old has scored 2,642 runs in 47 Tests, 1,986 runs in 54 ODIs and 2,265 runs in 72 T20Is with 14 international hundreds across formats.

BCCI To Take Over KL Rahul's Injury Case Completely; New LSG Captain Named Ahead of CSK Clash In IPL 2023: Report

As per a report in Cricbuzz, Rahul's further participation in IPL 2023 will be subject to BCCI and the National Cricket Academy's (NCA) discretion given that the injury is serious. Scans are being done as Rahul was in pain and had a swelling and the opening batter is set to miss a few games for the Lucknow side. He is still with the team in Lucknow but will miss the Wednesday (May 3) game against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as all-rounder With the World Test Championship (WTC) final scheduled to take place in a month's time, the BCCI and NCA's priority will be to get Rahul fit for the summit clash, who is likely to be the second wicket-keeper in the Indian squad. Every decision on Rahul from now on will be taken under BCCI's supervision, the franchise sources said as per the report. As far as the Super Giants are concerned, it will be a huge blow to their chances given Rahul is not just key at the top with the bat for his side but is also the leader. LSG now have two options to replace Rahul - either bring in Manan Vohra in a straight swap at the top of the order or get Quinton de Kock back in the picture as the opener and play an Indian pace bowler in place of Naveen ul Haq.
