2015 Batch IAS Officer VR Krishna Teja has been transferred and posted as District Collector of Kerala’s Thrissur. He took charge as new Collector from the outgoing DC IAS Haritha V. Kumaron on 22nd March, 2023. He was currently serving as Alappuzha Collector. Mr. Teja hails from Guntur of Andhra Pradesh. He is a computer science engineer. After completing his schooling in Chilakaluripeta which is a city in Guntur (AP), Mylavarapu got graduated as an engineer from Narasarao Peta College of Engineering in the year 2009.

Barely a week after he took charge, Kerala’s LDF government on Monday transferred Alappuzha District Collector Sriram Venkitaraman, who is an KM Basheer, to the post of General Manager, Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited. V R Krishna Teja IAS is the new collector of the coastal district. Venkitaraman was appointed as the collector of Alappuzha on July 24. He took charge of the post on July 26. The state government took the decision after the opposition UDF, journalists unions and various Muslim outfits declared widespread protests against the appointment of Venkitaraman in the post with magisterial powers. In its order, the government said the service of Venkitaraman, district collector, Alappuzha, is placed at the disposal of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department for being appointed as General Manager, Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited. The post has also been declared equivalent in status and responsibility to the cadre post of Joint Secretary to Government. VR Krishna Teja, Director of Tourism, will handover charge of Managing Director of Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) to V Vigneshwari on December 20. Krishna Teja’s two-year tenure as KTDC’s executive head was marked by a string of initiatives that saw the state-owned hospitality major making major strides, despite the pandemic-induced challenges. Vigneswari, now Director of Collegiate Education, is a Kerala Cadre IAS officer of 2015 batch. It was under Krishna Teja that KTDC introduced the country’s first quarantine package as a timely boost to the travel sector. During his tenure, KTDC achieved a profit of ₹2.70 crore, despite the pandemic-caused setback to tourism the world over. This unique community ‘We are for Alleppey’ set up by the IAS in September, 2022, has been so popular that not just the Kerala neighborhood, but many CSR and individuals from outside have contributed to it whole heatedly.
