Established in 1956, Kurukshetra University is the oldest and most prestigious University of the State. The Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra (A + Grade NAAC accredited) was established in 1989 to start the First Master’s degree in Tourism in India under the faculty of commerce and management. Within a short period, it became a trendsetter in Tourism and Hotel management education by introducing Master of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (MHM&CT) and Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BHM&CT) courses in 2002 and 2009 respectively. The department is also running research program (s) such as Ph.D. in Tourism & Hotel Management. In a similar vein to remain a pioneer and trendsetter in tourism and hospitality management education, The DTHM proposed to start Post Graduate Diploma in Hospitality and Event Management w.e.f. 2022 session. The experienced and multi-disciplinary faculty of the department is determined to make it a Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Management Education at par with international standards. The structure & delivery of the curriculum at The Department of Tourism and Hotel Management are contemporary & based on our continuous interaction with renowned educationists & industry professionals besides Alunani and students’ feedback under National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. In 1976 UGC established University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra as a Central Instrumentation Facility. It was aimed to up keep the scientific equipment in the university science departments to give an impetuous to research and development (R&D) activities of the university. This endeavor was supported by providing the best human resource for the purpose. With the support of state of art facilities and human resources in the field of instrumentation it played a pivotal role in Research & Development activities of the university. To utilize the expertise of the existing human resource and the available infrastructure, in 1995 USIC was given the status of a constituent department of the university started an AICTE approved 4-year B.Tech (Instrumentation) programme. Thus Kurukshetra University became the pioneer to start Technical Education under university ambit. Thereafter, in the year 2004 a post student (PG) M.Tech (Instrumentation) was introduced. Doctoral program (Instrumentation) was introduced during the year 2005. Recently the name of the department has been changed as Department of Instrumentation with USIC remaining as one of the constituents of the department. Recently, also the name of these AICTE approved 4-year B.Tech and 2-year M Tech degree programme has changed as B.Tech (Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering) & M.Tech (Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering). The Kurukshetra University was established in 1956 as a unitary residential University and its foundation stone was laid by late Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. Located in the holy city of Kurukshetra, land of the historical battle of 'Mahabharata' and the great message of Bhagwad Gita, its campus is situated on the western bank of Brahm Sarover (the holy tank) and extends over an area of over 400 acres. Starting with only the Department of Sanskrit, it has now grown into a multi-faculty University, one of the premier centres for advanced study and research. • In case of correction in particulars i.e. Registration No., Name, Father Name, Mother Name and College Name, Re-issue DMC/Degree will be re-issued replacing the original DMC/Degree containing error.
